Every day, I agree that in the evening I will repent
Repentance from the goblet & cup brimful
Now that the time of roses has come there is no sorrow
In the season of roses penitence for the repentance oh head.

F4 94

Indeed, indeed, Repentance oft before
I swore--but was I sober when I swore?
And then and then came Spring, and Rose-in-hand
My thread-bare Penitence apieces tore.

HA 7a

Every day I resolve to repent in the evening,
Repenting of the brimful goblet, and the cup;
(But) now that the season of roses has come, I cannot grieve,
Give penitence for repentance in the season of roses, O Lord!

HA 94

Every day I resolve to repent in the evening,
Making repentance of the brimful goblet and cup;
Now that the season of roses has come, I cannot grieve
Give penitence for repentance in the season of roses, O Lord!

P 704

I purpose each day, at night, of my case to repent,
From the goblet brim-full and the loveling's embrace to repent:
But now, that the season is here of the darling fresh rose,
Of repentance, O Lord, for the nonce give me grace to repent!

Th 532

Each morn I say, "To-night I will relent.
Nor be on cup or brimming bowl intent."
Now Spring has come, in time of roses, Lord
Give me repentance that I did repent!

Wh 425

Each morn I say, "To-night I will repent
Of wine, and tavern haunts no more frequent ";
But while 'tis spring, and roses are in bloom,
To loose me from my promise, O consent!
