Calcutta nr. 250

From drinking generous & cheerful wine a dead man rises
And from all expounding dryness & coldness arises
If you drink wine the explanation will be easy
For from drinking, whiskers grow from the face !

Payne 1898 - 329
Easance and mirth from wine, 't was ever seen, arise:
When in thy nature drought and cold of spleen arise,
If thou drink wine, forthright thou'It rosy-faced become,
For yellow cheeks and pale from eating green arise.

Thompson 1906 - 753
Alertness, joy and vigor rise from wine,
Where drought and cold rise in that soul of thine.
If thou quaff (rosy) wine, thou 'It be like it;
Herb eating doth the cheek with sallow line.
