RUBÁIYÁT OF OMAR KHAYYÁM. Rendered into English verse by Edward FitzGerald. Tehran, Eqbal, 1994

Another polyglot but rather plain edition, with only a few illustrations in colour, containing 50 quatrains in English, French, German, Persian, Arabic and Urdu.

The English quatrains are taken from FitzGerald’s fourth version.

45 French quatrains are from E’tessam-Zadeh’s translation of 1931. The remaining five French quatrains appeared in the edition edited by H.A.N. Esfandiary (Shumposha, 1972): numbers 6 (F 15), 27 (F 20), 37 (F 22), 40 (F 19) and 42 (F 18).
